Every year there's a new label that takes the media and fashion scene by storm, you know..that signature designer that EVERYONE and their grannies HAVE to wear, the designer that all the chain retailers HAVE to knock-off.. 2008-2009 it was Max Azia's Herve Leger bandage dresses and skirts, 2006-2007 it was Zac Posen. My prediction for the end of 2009-2010?

EVERYTHING  BALMAIN!!

Balmain has already been making a splash this season with celebrities, models, socialites and fashionista's everywhere being photographed in their signature embellished sandals, and padded shouldered jackets, dresses and blouses. Its only a matter of time till lower end labels begin drawing inspiration from Balmain.  Some lower end labels are already ahead of the trend, like Steve Madden, who have incorporated Balmain-esque details to their shoes.

TO REPEAT OR NOT TO REPEAT: THE APPROPRIATE TIME-LENGTH TO WAIT BEFORE REPEATING A CLOTHING ITEM OR AN OUTFIT.

Many gossip sites and tabloids, including the YBF and People Magazine have posted numerous celebs making what some would say is quit possibly, the hugest fashion blunder possible; being a REPEAT OFFENDER! i.e., wearing the same outfit twice in the same season! Lets face it..we've all been guilty of this one, and personally I think there are some times when repeating may be acceptable, like for instance if your wearing it in two different coutries, in two different seasons  or you wore it to a your best friends birthday party last year and you've toned it down and wore it on a wednesday  evening date night..But first, you have know the difference between your staples and pieces that are relevant to a current trend. It is perfectly ok to rock your favorite pair of shoes, or jeans or even a cardigan  on a regular basis. Some  other things are also accepatable to wear twice or three times in a month like a signature statement necklace, or funky shoes or a clutch, however, it is NOT ok- I repeat-IT IS NOT OK to wear the same  statement dress you wore last week to another event the following week! ESPECIALLY IF YOU KNOW YOU ARE BEING PHOTOGRAPHED AT BOTH EVENTS!! Come ladies and gents! NOT APPROPRIATE.

SAFFRON SUMMER TRAVEL: SUMMER DESTINATIONS

So, I'm currently in school and can't wait till I get out for the summer! This summer, I plan to indulge my xenophilic nature and do a little world travelling! yay me!! :) I'll be hitting up all the hot spots, spotting all the summer trends and partaking in one of my all-time favorite pastimes, eating out! So here's the plan!

JAMAICA!!

Yes y'all (wow,  I sound like a Texan :S),  I will be taking a little trip back home for a little r&r. God knows Im going to need it after my end of year comps! I'm more than ready to soak up the sun, scope out the party scene, lay on the beaches and bask in the sexy ambiance that is quintessentially Jamaican! It's ok, you can get jealous! ;p

LONDON, ENGLAND!

Aaahhhh!! Im soo excited!!! :D This will be my first time to England since I was a baby, so actually this will definately be the first time I will be in London- town that I can commit to memory, and boy do I plan to have a memorable time! As soon as I get there I'm gonna fit up one of those fish n' chips joints!! Then shopping and ofcourse the club scene! If you've been and suggest I check something out, I glady welcome the recommendations

PARIS, FRANCE!

Oh Mon Dieu! je suis au-delà des mots! lol..I have been dying to go to France for the longest while! I cannot wait to visit le Louvre, l'arc triumphe, le tour d'eiffel, the gardens of versailles,  the legendary rue de cambon, maybe Nice for the weekend and one of those smoky french cafés comme dans les films! :) It would also be awesome to hit up one of those underground African Nightclubs I've been hearing about too AND lets not forget the food!! You can't go to France and not partake in the local cuisine, n'est pas?

ROMA, ITALY!!

All I want to do in Italy is EAT, eat and EAT! and ofcourse drink copious amouts of wine and flirt with italian men!

IRELAND

Authentic Irish Pubs and cool accents..I might even try the beer! Luckily I kind of like Guiness :)

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS!

Everything is legal in Amsterdam, from ganja smoking, to prostitution! Sounds like the right place for me! lol..JUST KIDDING! I hear the people are exceptionally friendly too! Needless to say, Im exited!

MADRID, SPAIN!

SANTORINI AND MYKONOS, GREECE!

There is no other way to start or  finish off a world- wind tour, than to finish on a beautiful white sand beach so why not make Greece my finally destination before heading back to the US? This is probably by far goignt o be the most exciting of the trips I plan to make this summer because ever since I saw the white washed houses with the cobalt rooftops and the dazzling sunsets on the travel channel, I get all warm and fuzy inside  and the biggest smile flashes across my face when I daydream about visiting :)  -im even smiling right now! In college I was a philosophy major so I'm also anxious to visit Athens!

Hopefully all goes well and I get to go to all my destinations this summer and look incredibly chic all the while during! 

Meanwhile I jet-set around the world, my fellow SAFFRONITE, Oshun plans to do a little summer getaway herself! She plans to go to down south to Miami foran impromptu holiday! Yes you guessed it, SOUTH BEACH BABY~!

Oh, to be young, beautiful , black and fabulous! It doesnt get any better! Dont worry we'll take pictures! In the mean time, tell us where you plan to go this summer!
